Mr. 5.0 - You do not need factory forged pistons, that come in the '87-midlate '92s.

Not all forged pistons are created equal.

A hypereuatic piston will outlast the factory block and rods, if the tune is right.

To the original poster:

I wouldn't push more than 8psi with old stock headgaskets. Get a very safe tune or you will be swapping headgaskets.

Preferrably, replacing the headgaskets with a better pair, and some ARP head studs for better clamping force would be preferred.

Get a bigger MAF, because you need a new one anyways since you will need to go with bigger injectors, fuel pump.

yea don't get wild on the tune, just opt for some new headgaskets, sum arp studs and a larger maf, although you dont really NEED one...
