They just don't understand the "bang for the buck" concept....

Anyone can shell out a couple extra grand for the Shelby emblem on the front, but it really doesn't seem to be pushing out much more than the stock in comparison to past models

i expected at least 350 out of next year's--but 319?! you are right, what exactly are we paying for, the looks?? give me a break

The Shelby is designed for road racing, not sheer power, so a lot of measures are at play here (suspension upgrades, weight reduction)

HP is nice, but the company again has kept its drivers in mind and probably considered the fact that most Stangers (especially Shelby buffs) mod for engine upgrades anyhow...

i think ford is ignoring its younger drivers. they are overdoing it with kissing old people's a$$. old people are not the only people buying a shelby. young people like hp, and if you are going to charge for it, give it to us!! carroll should be ashamed of himself.

Yea I'm not too excited about this though. 350hp really isn't a huge stretch, and they could slap the GT350 on there. That'd be fine.

I did see one in a dealership lot though (didn't think they were out!) It looks pretty badass, but I dunno if it could sell me just on looks...the pricetag's twice my GT

What you should be complaining about is the dealership markups. This is why you feel they are "pricy."

I Believe This Is One Of The Things That Is Killing Ford. Due To If They Went And Sold Shelbys At The Sticker They Would Just Sell More And Then They Would Sell More Gt To Build Up. It Is A Win Win Situation. Now All There Doing Is Making People Walk Out The Door In Anger.

The GT500 is already priced high, thanks to the dealers.
But the wanna be Shelby, like the hertz is a complete rip off.

My 06 V6 drive just as good cause I dropped it, dual exhausted it and the brakes are plentyful, install the Hurst shifter and all of this for hundreds, not thousands of dineros. I'm just down on power cause of the 6 banger but once my Vortech's in there, it'll get more respect.

I paid $19,000 for my car (premium package and all) and put about $10,000 with the Mods, + upcoming Vortech $4000 = $33,000 Grands.

For that kind of dough, I get 340 hp at the wheels, a much cooler look than that stupid Shelby (I get the Foose hood and Shaker) and the handling's good with 20" wheels.

Too bad that Ford doesn't care about us cause they dropped the SVT Cobra program for the SHELBY name and now there's a big gap from a regular GT to the GT500.
