supercharger issue

Recently installed Saleen supercharger on my 2007 GT/CS. Got power loss and bucking at 4000rpm and up. changed plugs and fuel filter. bucking went away but still does not seem to pull strong between 4000 and 6000rpm. also, snapping or popping from exhaust at high rpm, close to wide open throttle. stock fuel pump. any thoughts??? thanks.

(always 93 octane...shell or sunoco)

I hope you have already gotten help, but just in case, did you have a custom tune done? You'll need to supply more info to get any real help. Injector size?

Hey bro this is soooo funny 'cuz I was gonna post the same thing just now.But I have asked around also and from what I'm being told is that our cars are getting too much fuel.Does your check engine flash when your car starts to lose power? One time mines came did and it stayed on and I had it diagnosed and it said cylinder misfire(P0300) which means probably the fuel isn't getting burned off all the way and the cracking noise that you hear is your gas that's not being burned off going through your exhaust and just burning off in your hot tailpipes.I'm going to have my car re-tune pretty soon but I'm going to make sure that my pistons are ok 'cuz I already purchased some 39 pound injectors and a 3.2 pulley for my blower.I blew the motor on my last stang and I can't afford to have that happen again right now.

'too much fuel' doesn't sound right to me, but I'll find out soon enough. I am dropping the car off at Tasca Performance on Monday. They will diagnose, fix, and dyno for me. I'll post the answer when I get it. I'm real interested now to get a RWHP number, too.

so far...

no results until Wednesday...when the new exhaust is installed. YOU were right on! The car was running rich ...and the fuel MELTED the CATs. They put in the big fuel pump and tested the car. It was loading up with 17psi (yes, seventeen). 7 from the supercharger and the rest from the back-pressure of clogged CATs. They dropped the H-pipe and globs of ex-CAT came out. I'm lucky I didn't smoke the motor. Anyway, CATted H-pipe on the way. I'm told it should be finished by Tuesday or Wednesday.

PS I got some neat pics of a few SuperSnakes they had at the shop. will post.

Good deal bro and since you said something imma have to look at my X-pipe to make sure my cats aren't burnt up also.I got it parked and I'm driving my Wife's v-6 stang for now(she hates driving her mazda but hey she shouldn't have asked for me to buy it for her )I might not be able to get a new tune until the 2nd week of July but at least I'll be able to look at the cats until then. Can't wait to see your numbers bro make sure you post 'em for us.

Yeah, I would pay the extra bucks to get it custom tuned. Some SC are self tunning....

results

ok...
Tasca put in the new H-pipe with cats, Shelby mufflers, and the dual fuel pump. Tuned it on the dyno. 447.7 rwhp. Seems to run smooth but I only took it up to 4200rpm...too much traffic. I'll get it out tonight and see what happens but it feels good now. Thanks everyone.
