Vacuum during boost

Can someone help me out here?I have a Saleen supercharged '07 GT.When I start my car my boost gauge goes to 1.5 pounds of boost, this is during idle.I was told that if I had a vacuum that during boost the gauge needle would be flickering at almost peak boost. It's hard to tell when you're going past the speed limit and you're car is lowered. So my question is do I have a vacuum?and if so how do I go about fixing this or is it a defective boost gauge.Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

first of all do you have your boost gauge hooked up correctly. did it ever read correctly. you could try using a different gauge and see if it reads the same, if it does its not the gauge. a friend of mine was having his car dyno'd and showed no boost. it turned out the boost line was on the wrong side of the engine. after correcting that it read correctly.
