There's a guy with a '06 GT, supercharged, ford racing kit, etc.. that did mid 12's for his first time on street tires. Now he's hooked and thinking he can get that beast we call Big Bird in the 11's. Kicker-no short shifter or gear work done yet. That, along with drag radials are on his to do list now.

more track times

This was my first year ever going to a drag strip. Probably shouldn't admit the amount of racing I have done from light to light growing up on the North Side of Chicago but being in my 30's now I don't do as much so i was pretty pleased with my runs at the end of the season. Starting out on stock tires I managed only a 12.1 and has some mods on my GT500 already (2.6 pulley, intake, headers and 3.73 gears being the main ones). I changed to ET streets and was able to drop 2-3 thenths in the 60 right off the bat going from a 1.9-2.1 range to 1.7-1.8 range. I had crappy conditions though with hot hot temps over 90 and was only running in the high 11's with slower trap speeds. As we got a bit cooler and my trap speeds went up my times went down and my 60's were getting preety consistent in the 1.7-1.74 range. I managed an 11.3 with a best aver 1.62 60' and then headed off to change the super charger. I dropped on the 2.8 KB and then had to learn to drive the thing all over again. I've finally gotten to where 60' times are in the 1.63 - 1.74 range pretty consistently. I have run a high 10 but the printer was off line and I couldn't prove it so i say the best time is 11.046 @ 133.01 mph. I had a run with a 134.56 trap too but I short shifted and only trapped in the 11.2-11.3 range. I can pretty much always run in the low 11's now with slight driver error I pull an 11.1-11.2 rang. A good run will put me in the high 10's to 11.0 range. I have a few more mods coming so I can be consistent in the 10's and ideally a good run will be in the mid 10's. Not bad for a 1st year on the track only going on street night with limited if any prep.....and a convertible with a 275-285 pound driver....at least in my opinion. Here's a link to the slip posted in another thread on this site:
