Question Preparing for the winter...

As the winter months approach and the roads get dicey, we all tend to our Mustangs accordingly. What precautions do you take for your Stang? Do you rough it out or lock her up until April? If you keep your Mustang out, what are you doing to maintain a quality driving experience? If you own or have owned multiple platforms, what Mustangs generally fare the best on the ice?

Let's talk winter!

David, I never put her away over the winter. I'm just not that strong, can't do with out her that long. There are always days I can get her our to stretch her legs. I live in Maryland and we don't get a whole lot of snow here. I just have to wait for days where there's no snow on the ground and the roads don't have salt all over them.

The other reason is winter time is project time. That's when I do most of my mods and change things that I didn't want to take the time for during the busy summer months.

Regarding the best Mustang on ice, I'm not sure there is 1. I've owned several Mustangs of different generations and none of them were good on ice. However I think as long as you haven't built a hp/tq monster, and as long as you are easy on the gas and easy on the brakes it's doable. It's just so much easier to get in my '94 F150 4x4. -Joe

I got mine in October 2006. I moved to Colorado Springs in November 06. She saw full winter driving. Snow tires on the back and common sense, she'd go just about anywhere.

This year though, we have a Yukon that will be my winter driver and the Mustang will get put up. The roads are just too crappy here with potholes and sand.
