Question Modification questions

I figured that I would put this in the correct forum.

I have been thinking about what I want to put into my 2000 GT as far as performance mods go. I don't know what should be done first. I have a BBK Cold Air Intake kit that is not installed yet. I was looking at either MAC Long tube headers or BBK shortys because the BBK long tube ones don't fit an automatic. I am interested in installing everything form throttle bodies to gears to pulleys. I don't know if there should be an order to the madness. Are there certain things that should be in place first or that are necessary for those parts to be installed in the first place? Thanks in advance for helping out a noob.

One thing you want to consider is what will require a tune. Those things are good to group and do at once so you're not paying for tunes multiple times. Changing the gears will probably require changing the tune for your speedometer and odometer. The headers and exhaust in general will almost never require a tune or change in tune. At least not until you get to much higher HP. Plus exhaust adds to the "wow" factor and enjoyment. For performance, look for ways to remove/reduce unsprung weight. I'm not that good with that gen since I have the S197 but the same principles apply. Good luck and post any questions. -Joe

Gears/exhaust first. But I would save my money for a power adder of some type. Either boost or nitrous.

I would go with gears. Those are the best bang for the buck IMO. And unlike our new computerized mustangs, the older models can have there speedo's adjusted with a new gear on the speed sensor or a 100 dollar speed calibrator instead of a whole programmer.
