Question Roush Popularity

Hey guys,

I'm a n00b to this site...a big stang fan in the mod market. I've been to other sites and it really looks like roush is not very popular for mods...why?? i always thought they were considered top gear quality... The RoushCharger w/ the warrantee I would *think* would be a popular choice but I've hardly ever read anything about people installing one...same goes for suspension upgrades too...this is very disheartening because I have been a fan of the name and now that I'm actually in the market I'm hesitating...is there something I should know??

Thanks guys.

a lot of people are just not happy with the power alotted by a roush 425 SC...there is not anything particularly wrong with roush, it just does not offer the "bang for your buck" that most would expect. it is a good deal if you can be satisfied by a minor bump in HP in keeping the warranty. you cannot change anything though or else the warranty is void.

suspension mods are okay, but you can do much better for that amount of money.

If it were cheaper than a saleen i'd get one. There's a reason they give you some kinda warranty, it's because it's only pushing 5 psi of boost. Most any engine should hold up to that. They don't add these warranties because they think you'll have problems.

Most of Roush stuff is well made and engineered well. His SC on the other hand, is terribly engineered. KB is a much better bet.

If you're looking to have a reliable/safe/ long lasting 100 hp, then the Roush is just fine. Americans have always felt that if 100 is good, then 300 is much better. Trouble with that is, you can't add more than 100 hp to a 300 hp engine with light weight stock engine components and still have it live for more than a month.

Jack Roush is a marketing genius, His parts are just parts, some good, some not so good. But then some people pay $150.00 for tennis shoes...

I agree with Roush427. There are defintely better options for a power add on than the RoushCharger. As far as the suspension goes, I dont know WHY anyone wouldnt want the Roush Stage 3 Suspension. I have it and I wouldnt trade it for ANYTHING!!! And havent had any problems out of the S/C either and its got 35k on the clock.

If you DO decide that you wanna buy some roush parts, I would suggest signing up for the club and you get a 10% rebate on your parts and the membership dues are like $25 bucks a year so defintely worth the investment!

Dude, I think you are off your roller rocker. Can you define terribly engineered? You could not find more companies then you can count on one hand that invest as much engineering dollars and time as Roush. Anyone can build a car lives for a month and goes down in a blaze of shame from burning up. That is the whole point, "biggest back for the buck" also means longevity and drive-ability not just two passes downt he strip and then drop another 10G on a new motor to do it all over again.

I will piick up my 2008 427r tomorrow. i sure hope the quality is good for the buck. i originally put money down on a nonsupercharged saleen. then i realised that was stupid because a 427r was the same money. i ordered it in april /07 7 1/2 months ago. I hope not to put it in a ditch as i cannot resist the gas pedal in this cold weather. i will let you know how sweet it is. this is my first new car and what a beaut.

I have a stage 3 and the suspension is awesome, great corning holds the ground well and very little body roll, The super charger isn't very big putting out about 6 lbs but you can put the smaller pulley on it and and get a few more pounds, if it is warrenty your worried about have the dealer do the pulley swap and it doesn't void anything, and for a little more power go with an o/r x and you will have everything you want. Remember the Roush is built on the GT platform so you have a GT motor (hence not forged) like the cobra so if you try to put to much boost through it say goodbye to your bottom end. I love my stage 3 and waited a long time to afford one and at this point I wouldn't trade it for anything.
