Spied: 2010 Shelby GT500 is Mustang's "next chapter"

Remember when Ford told us to expect the "next chapter" of the Ford Mustang story to be unveiled in Detroit? It looks like that chapter has gotten an early read, thanks to our fellow automotive nuts over at Jalopnik.

The title of this chapter in the Ford Mustang story (I think I'm pushing the 'chapter' bit too far) is the Shelby GT500, as we now have a nice batch of low-camo spy shots of the super Stang to review.

The range topping Mustang looks nice, with the aggressive front end, hood vents and racing stripes carrying over nicely from the previous model. New to the GT500 are some very sweet looking new wheels, and a very classy looking spoiler to complement the 2010 Mustang's new rear end.

Enjoy these shots for now and look forward to seeing this car at the Detroit Auto Show, where we expect it to show its face this January. As always, StangPlanet will have the latest Mustang-related news as it develops.

those might be those sort of matte color wheels, or they could just be dirty from what looks like bad weather, or it could indeed be camo, but my bet here is that they will have the matte wheels as an option (i personally also like them shinier, but i think the design of them is good) as well as a shinier version

i wonder... i bet that the markup will be lower, if only because of the whole bad economy/fuel efficiency/gas prices thing. however, i wouldnt be too surprised if this car has so many more worthless features added on for 2010 (chrome plated navigation button trimmings, woo-hoo!) that it ends up being marked up less but still costing the same or more for the consumer...
