This is it. The day we have all been waiting for has finally come. So wipe the saliva off your face and prepare to be blown away with news so shocking that the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up. After reading this, you will be forced to ask yourself whether the recent
Saw V thriller was really that shocking at all.
The 2010 Mustang GT is now on sale on eBay- as a die-cast car. Yes, that's right. Somehow, the Hot Wheels version of this unrevealed pony car has made its way on to the world's auction house and the bidding right now is only $0.99 (with $8.50 shipping). So if you want this obscure piece of miniature automotive history, now is the
time to act.
It's a "pre-production" model- and it's missing mirrors- so not very much is revealed about the new Mustang from this 1:64 scale model that we didn't already know. In fact, it's refreshing to learn that a lot of what we knew was coming is there, like the "Power Dome" hood and the new fascias that we have seen in Ford's teaser images.
The most interesting thing I think we can learn about the new 2010 Mustang from this news is that apparently Ford will be changing direction entirely by fabricating the entire 2010 Mustang GT out of die-cast and plastic. I'm sure this news will shake the industry, and obviously, shouldn't be taken lightly. Just kidding.
Hot Wheels versions of high performance automobiles were a large part of my life when i was just a wee little boy, but this one is for the true die-cast enthusiast. So bid away, as there only 6 short days (as of 7 PM on 11/2) to go until this one closes.
UPDATE: It is apparent upon clicking the link to the Ebay page that the auction has been taken down, presumably by Ford as this is probably not supposed to be on sale.
