Dream Stang: Win a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible

For many enthusiasts, it doesn’t seem practical to go and purchase a 2008 Mustang from the dealer because they’re being given away like hotcakes! The latest giveaway is taking place in the Joliet Area Historical Museum in Joliet, Illinois, where organizers are raffling off a torch red 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible! Proceeds will benefit the museum.

Once the museum received the vehicle from Rūb Ford Inc., it seems they were reluctant to give it away too quickly. The vehicle is currently on display in the museum’s lobby where it stands aside “The Route 66 Experience” exhibit and the upcoming “Soaring Achievements of John C. Houbolt” display.

Tickets are $35 each or three for $100 and only 3,500 will be offered. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at the museum’s 7th Annual Gala Ball, “Fly Me to the Moon: A Star-Filled Night at the Museum” on Saturday, October 4, 2008. Winners will not be required to be in attendance to win.

The first place winner will be able to choose between $25k or the Shelby GT500 (the latter of course) and five second place winners will receive $1,000 cash. Sweet!

To purchase tickets, check out area events and festivals, purchase them online at Joliet Historical Museum or order them over the phone at 815.723.5201 ex. 224.

For more information on the raffle, check out the press release below.

Joliet, IL−Be quick off the line to purchase your chance to win a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500! This torch red Cobra with black convertible top is coiled to strike with a V-8, 5.4 liter engine, 6-speed Tremec manual transmission, Shaker 500 audio system with six-CD changer, and much more.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum will sell just 3,500 raffle tickets. Tickets are $35 each or three for $100.00. The first place winner may choose the 2008 Mustang Shelby or a $25,000.00 prize; in the event that fewer than 2000 tickets are sold, the first place winner will receive 50% of the proceeds. There will also be five second-place prizes of $1000.00 cash. Tickets are being sold at various area events and festivals this summer and are available for purchase online at Joliet Historical Museum. Tickets can also be charged by phone – have your Visa or MasterCard ready and call 815.723.5201 ex. 224. You may also buy tickets during regular Museum hours at the JAHM Gift Shop.

The proceeds will benefit the Museum, including exhibits such as “The Route 66 Experience,” which celebrates the legendary Route 66 and its mythical American roadside culture, and “The Soaring Achievements of John C. Houbolt,” scheduled to open this fall. The new Houbolt exhibit will focus on the 1969 moon landing and honor Joliet native Dr. John Houbolt, a key figure in the design and production of NASA’s lunar landing module. The 500 square foot, 2-story exhibit will feature panels, diagrams, maps, audio visuals, flat-screen narratives and period dioramas to tell the exciting story of the Apollo mission, the moon landing, and Dr. Houbolt’s vision.

The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at the Museum’s 7th Annual Gala Ball, “Fly Me to the Moon: A Star-Filled Night at the Museum” on Saturday, October 4, 2008. The lucky winners need not be present to win.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum would like to thank Rūb Ford Inc. of Gardner, Illinois who helped make this car raffle possible. The car is currently on display inside the Museum, 204 N. Ottawa Street, Joliet, through October 4.

A Day in the Park (8/3/08)

David,

Here is another picture of this beauty! She was at my club's (Northern Mustang Corral, Bourbonnais, IL (northernmustangcorral.com)) annual show, A Day in the Park, on 8/3/08. Have to say I bought a few of the tix myself. She had 66.8 miles on her when she arrived. Caught a lot of attention this day.

Later

Terry
