Roush Performance offers Cold Air Intake Kit for 2005-2008 4.6L Ford Mustangs

It’s always tough to settle with the horsepower one’s Stang has at any given time, and the folks at Roush Performance understand that. That’s why they’re offering a Cold Air Intake Kit to help enthusiasts with ROUSHcharged 2005-2008 4.6L Mustangs squeeze out another 15 horsepower. That would bring the total power output to 460 horses—sweet.

The kit includes one ROUSH reusable air filter, an air dam, ROUSH PCM calibration and an induction tube.

A standard air intake unit leaves plenty of potential power untouched, whereas the cold air induction system utilizes that latent potential for a much more efficient and powerful use of the intake system. The Air Dam prevents hot air from reaching the engine compartment, providing for a cooler, more dense, thus more powerful air charge.

The included air filter is composed of a synthetic nano-fiber material that catches small dirt particles nearly twice as effectively as typical cotton-based filters. These filters are also 100% washable and include a lifetime warranty.

If anything, enthusiasts can rest assured that, with this kit, their Mustangs will be marked by the reliable nameplate that Roush offers.

For full details on the Roush Cold Air Induction Kit for 2005-2008 4.6L ROUSHcharged Mustangs, check out the full specs from RoushPerformance.com in the reply below.

Full details on the Air Induction Kit for 2005-2008 4.6L Mustangs from Roush

Upgrade your ROUSHcharged™ 2005-2008 4.6L V8 Mustang with this Cold Air Intake Kit and unleash an additional 15 hp out of your engine, bringing the total power of your Mustang to 460hp. The kit features the ROUSH reusable air filter, air dam, ROUSH® PCM calibration, and induction tube.

This kit requires a 2005-2008 4.6L Mustang ROUSHcharger® (either part #403309 or #403310).

Cold air induction is a more efficient air intake method than the standard air filtering process. As a result, cold air induction can unleash the latent potential in power and fuel efficiency that is normally restrained by a standard air intake unit.

Air first comes into the Air Dam, which keeps out hot air from the engine compartment. The result is that the air entering the filter is cooler and dense, providing for a more potent air charge.

The ROUSH air filter media is a synthetic nano-fiber material that traps the smallest dirt particles that ordinary cotton-gauze "performance" filters can’t capture. Based on SAE standards, ROUSH air filters capture almost twice the percentage of 2 micron particulates, and more than six times the amount of 0.5 micron particulates than our competitors’ filters. Furthermore, ROUSH air filters are constructed using the finest materials available today, featuring a hand-poured urethane body that won’t crack, curl or shrink like other rubber or plastisol units used by our competitors. ROUSH air filtration performance is second to none. All ROUSH air filters are 100% washable, reusable and feature a lifetime warranty. The ROUSH Cool Air Dam surrounds the filter, helping to keep out hot air from the engine, further maximizing performance.

Once air passed through the filter, it is taken to the engine through a Modular Intake Tube (MIT) that can improve airflow up to 400 CFM over the restrictive stock intake tube. Made from cross-linked, high-density polyethylene, the MIT straightens out air flow by providing a smooth, unrestricted path that increases air flow to the engine.

The kit includes all the necessary hardware, making it quick and easy to install, taking only 15-30 minutes.

The "ROUSH" logo is also featured on the kit, thereby stamping your car with the mark of the leader in automotive performance. As a result, this kit not only makes your car faster, it makes it look faster when you open your hood.

Please note that this kit will void the ROUSH drivetrain warranty.

Since being established in 1976 as Jack Roush Performance Engineering, ROUSH has become the winningest name in racing, with numerous championships in professional drag racing, road racing, and NASCAR. The ROUSH company is also recognized internationally as a premier provider of automotive product development and systems integration solutions, with more than 2,000 employees in facilities across the globe. The company's success remains deeply rooted in the core values that are unique to ROUSH: reliance upon the talent of the individual, a disciplined work ethic, scrupulous attention to detail, and an acutely intense desire to be the best. As a result, every ROUSH product shares in this rich tradition of racing performance and the highest level of OEM quality and design.
