I don't like it, they need to keep with the Shelby theme...

Thumbs up Does not look smaller

I have seen the 2010 Mustang. It was in Long Beach, CA a couple months ago. I got into a group of about 30 people (not one other Mustang enthusist, though) to do a focus group on the full exterior, and a mock up model of the interior.

It was a full, rolling clay. No one noticed it was clay - clays are that good.

Great look, that will have some saying that the front end looks a little like the new Camaro (the grill area, anyway). My complaint with the car is a drastic departure from the last 45 years: the rear bumper is not straight flat from end to end. It goes diagonal towards the rear tires at about 1.5 feet in, like: /----\ (at least on the clay). Fans raised a fuss when they turned the taillamps vertical in 1994. This is just as bad.

But overall the car is the most agressive look the Mustang has seen in its history. I'd have to give it a thumbs-up.

i agree that the new model looks much different and may be a step away from any of the traditional queues, but i think its okay that the FORD MUSTANG is taking a step in a new direction. the nostalgia and the tributes to all the old models were great during the past 3 years, but it's time for ford to get in the game and take the mustang in the right direction that will make it a suitable competitor for the other pony car challengers (camaro, challenger, etc)

I think everyone would agree that the S197 body is a direct result of the styling that was and is the 67-68 Mustang, which carries with it much of the 64 1/2 to 66. So why not take the next series or the next series of Mustang, 69-70 or 71-73 which both bodies differ but carry some aspects of the prior years and mold a new Stang that is simillar but new, does that make any sense? If you look at the S197 like I have and see that it takes it's pose from the 67-68 and imgine what a 69-70 newer S197 type concept or even the 71-73 (which I think is the most radical of ALL the year ones, far ahead of it's time) S197 type concept and do what we want not what they want and sell a billion of them. We all know that (I refuse to mention names for fear I'll get knifed) Ford has made some blunders that almost cost them the line at times. For me that "10" IS TOO MUCH LIKE the Camero and I think Chevy is going to find out that they've made a huge mistake when it goes into production, yes you can quote me...
