The order guides for the 2009 model of the Ford Mustang were recently released, and it looks like the folks at the blue oval have plenty in store for enthusiasts. Model-wise, we can expect the usual V6, California Special,
Warriors in Pink Edition, GT, Bullitt, GT500 and GT500KR.
Starting from the top of the pecking order, the 2009 Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT500KR will pretty much be copy/pasted from 2008 as far as modifications are concerned, but the KR will benefit from a boost in production, seeing an extra 571 coming off the line for the US and 175 produced for export.
The big addition that has everyone talking is the new
Glass Roof Option, listed under 59G of the order guide. It can be added to any 2009 GT or V6 Premium coupe for a mere $1,995.
Next year isn’t a big one for new packages, but Ford is offering up a GT Security Package, listed under 43G. With this package, the Mustang is outfitted with active perimeter inclination and intrusion alarms in addition to a wheel locking kit.
Another scarcity in next year’s order guide is new color offerings. Enthusiasts should note that Silver Metallic is now being replaced with a new color, Brilliant Silver Clearcoat Metallic, listed under UI in the order guide.
Both the GT and California Special packages will be available in Vapor Silver in 2009, for either the coupe or convertible. The new Brilliant Silver will be available on next year’s Warrior in Pink Edition, in addition to Performance White and Black.
The 2009 V6 and GT Mustangs will feature a 45th anniversary year fender badge. That does not include the Warriors in Pink Edition Mustangs.
V6 enthusiasts will be happy to note that the 2009 sixers will have the first ever option of 18” wheels. The GTs will receive the 18” chromed aluminum wheels.
