The auto show season is in full swing, and the major aftermarket companies have yet to disappoint. At this week’s New York International Auto Show, it appears Saleen will be getting the most nods, namely for its Power Sliding Glassroof.
Judging by the one photo that has been released to the public, the roof will stylishly slide past the rear window, although the mechanisms that allow it to do so are unclear.
The new option is the product of Saleen’s collaboration with ASC, two companies owned by the same private equity firm who are also producing a mid-engine S5S Raptor that churns out 650 horsepower. It runs on E85 ethanol and burns a 0-60mph in a mere 3.2 seconds. That dream vehicle is priced at a hefty $180K and is due for release in 2010.
StangPlanet will keep you updated on both developments as more information becomes available. A press release is expected as the New York Auto Show draws nearer. The show begins tomorrow, March 21 and ends next Sunday, March 30.
