Recently, Jay Leno has brushed paths with the interests of Mustang enthusiasts several times on his popular automotive site JayLenosGarage.com. Jay likes to showcase his expansive personal collection of rare makes as well as his access to some of the hottest new vehicles, and definitely showed some love to the Mustang world in the past few weeks.
First, Jay
test drove the tricked-out 2008 GT500KR that will star in the new NBC remake of Knight Rider. Aside from instilling envy in all the Mustang enthusiast viewers, Jay reveals some key information about the new KITT(s) as he hawkishly plays with them in his garage and on the street. For one, he confirms that there are two KITTs for the shoot – one being an actual full-sized remote control car, putting the guy who had to dress up as a leather seat while he drove the “driverless” Trans-Am in the 80s out of a job. Of course, Jay gets to toy around with the remote control car in his shop until the keys to the other GT500KR are presented to him. Surprise number two: Val Kilmer begins talking to him over the car’s speakers, confirming that Kilmer will be the voice of KITT in the remake.
Wander around on the site for several more minutes (not too long!) and you’ll find Dave Teter’s
“The Boss” as one of the site’s Featured Fan Cars! It looks like Teter’s is the first Boss Mustang to receive this esteemed position, and still stands as one of the most viewed cars on the site. And with good reason—“The Boss” is badass! Looks like we
caught this one before you did, Jay! Unfortunately, we missed posting about the spot a week late, but be sure to
congratulate Teter!
