Question '02 GT Tires

I have some 245/40R17's on my '02 GT right now, but am looking to replace them with a tire with a little more of a side wall.

It seems the largest tire that will fit on the stock rim is a 255/45R17. Has anyone run these and if so, are there any rubbing issues with them? Open to any other suggestions. Thanks.
