Ford Mustang MPGs - What do you get?

As the average national gas prices top $3.70, Ford Mustang owners are tending to put more focus on their rate of consumption.

But different MPG claims can be made for all of the Mustang platforms, from 12mpg to 25mpg (or higher?).

So, here it is: How many MPG does your Mustang get in the city and on the highway? We wanna know!

Mpg 07 Gt

I own a 07 gt Grabber Orange Mustang and just this weekend on a trip to Atlanta I was averaging 28.9 mph. The only mods to the car have been a cold air intake. I also get about 26.3 on my daily commute to work in town. Can't ask for much more than that.

gas mileage

I have a '06 GT and can get it as high as 29.4. But that's at 62 mph. At 65 it drops to 28.8. For every 4 mph it drops 2 mpg. At 75 it is in the low 20s. So it does pay to at least follow the speed limits even if the big SUVs at going by you at 85 to 90. It also seems the most likely to speed over the posted limits are the young ladies driving the throw away cars. They are usually going 85 or so, drinking a coke and on the cell phone. The truckers late radio show had a study done about the cell phones and it was proved that folks on the phone LOSE their phripheral vision. I suppose that's why most accidents involving those on the phone are caused by them pulling out in front of another vehicle. It even applies to the hands free phones.
