Your most tragic Mustang moment...
Okay Stangers, it's time to dig deep into your Mustang memories. You know you’ve been a victim. A careless driver pulls out in front of you and nicks your pony—or perhaps something more severe…
What’s the most tragic moment you’ve had with your Mustang? Perhaps someone touched something they shouldn’t have or dented a precious aftermarket gem you had just installed. What was it for you? And what was your reaction?

having my wife's new SHEBY GT vandalized 3 times the first we thought it happened at way word . when it happened the second time after we had it fixed we knew it was someone on the street . so we cleaned out the garage . put the car in there we forgot it one night sometime between 5 and 8 pm they hit it for the 3rd time
what they did was use a small pinpoint torch the kind AC techs use and trashed the plastic trim above the window 3 times .the side scope and side mirror the car is in getting the scratch they did being fixed now. i had to put up a fence gate and 4 night vision camera recording 24 hours a day.
so this jerk cost me about 3 k . i wi not say what will happen if i find this person!!!! . and i have a good idea who it is
so we sod the house and were having one built with a 4 car garage

I was driving my BLK 04 GT which I have numerous brake and suspension and chassis mod's so my car handles great, One afternoon I was playing on a side road that is smooth and straight kinda following a Subaru WRX at about 135mph, and the little son-of-BIACH drove onto the soft shoulder and sprayed my car with rocks and debris, chips here chips there, lucky for me no broken lights or windows just a couple of chips in the paint and front glass...of course at that time I slowed down a little and when I tried to catch back up he was gone.....

I had the cap off of the stove pipe chimney in my shop blow off and land on my hood during a storm. I knew it wouldn't be good when I went outside and saw that thing laying on the ground next to my car. It wasn't.

Years ago in my black 72 Fastback I was returning home from this girls house that I had just met the night before We did it up pretty good, drank champagne and danced all night and I guess it was about 7:00AM when I decided to get home. Well little did I realize till I was on my way that it had frozen that night, we were not experiencing ANY cold what we were doing The roads for the most part were ok but in the shadows there were not.
I got behind these two old farts going about 25 in a 50 zone and there was not only me but I'd say about a quarter mile of traffic behind them, me being a much younger man was quite put off by this, looked for an opening to pass. The traffic coming the other way was broken up just enough that if the roads were good I had enough performance it would have been no sweat but as it was I just couldn't see taking the chance. All the time I'm behind them we are in the sunshine meaning that unless there was a shadow on the road they were not really treacherous by It was in my pride and joy.
So we s-l-o-w-l-y rounded a bend in the road, a full 90° so it took a moment to see if there was an adiquate break in traffic to pass, there was. So I crept around the old (@#$(!'s till I got it straight before giving any juice but at the same time someone from the other direction did the same thing. At that moment I was about half a length on the old farts and really just not the time to abandon my hard fought effort to get around this obsticle I was now in the shadows of this big hill and when I touched the gas it down shifted and I went full sideways in the road in front of the car and eventually backwards.
I remember seeing the coots looking at me in panic and I was going out of control and flying backasswards. It just so happened that on that side of the road and only at that one particular place was a 6-7 foot ditch, just wide enough for a car to fit and I backed her in at about 20-25 MPH. The ditch was so tight that I couldn't open either door and when I landed I think I must have got air because my right leg came down on the shifter and both wrists slamed the top of the steering wheel, hurt! So by that time everyone and there dog was standing around looking down as I crawled out of the passenger window and I was pissed. The two old farts were there as well and I had a little talk with them about letting people go when they're impeding traffic
The damage was both rear quarters were the first to impact and it looked like a dog that got kicked in the ass, bent under and hunched, it even put dents in the roof. The drive shaft had intercourse with the tailshaft housing and it messed up the springs. The car was actually totaled but I bought it from the insurance company for like $500.00 and payed for the fix out of pocket, I think it was about $3600.00 to fix, actually more than I payed for it originally. But I thought that whilst I'm getting it fixed I might as well have them put a new coat of black on it and that ran the cost of repair up a bit When it was done I think it actually was a better car than before, the shot that did the repair took a bunch of time to do it but they really did a good job. All new parts, new tranny, some new interior parts. That's ma story.......maybe someday I'll tell you about the other 2 million crashes I've been in, from rolling a VW on the freeway to having the front of my Pinto rolled over by a 66 Lincoln continental Panzer tank at 50

that's quite a story, 682X2STANG. and it all started with some girl you met the night before. sounds all too familiar, a formula for disaster, but who can resist a pretty face.

2 stories about my '77. once my fuel line melted and started a fire by the carb, flames coming out from under the hood. so i pulled over on a busy street, and i wasn't going anywhere near my car at this point. pretty soon some genius rolls up beside me and decides he is going to enlighten me. he says, "hey man, your car is on fire." oh really, thats exactly why i'm not in it right now, bc i really dont like getting burned, dipstick. but some good sumeritan calls the fire dept and within minutes they arrive to put out the fire.
second story, same car. i was letting the engine cool by opening the hood just a bit and let it rest, but it's not closed. after 15-20 minutes at 7-11 or something, i forget, but i start driving away not realizing my hood is not closed. so when i get up to speed, 30-35 mph, the hood gets blown up and onto to windsheild and roof, whammoo!! i cant see anything at this point, pull over, close the hood. and discover the damage to the cowl vent. now i am paranoid about closing the hood, always check it before i drive off.
