If you wanna buy a GT500 for an investment, why don't you gimme the $50k now, and in 20 years I'll give you back whatever the car is worth at that time...I'll keep whatever's leftover as a holding fee.

What makes anyone think that the GT500's will be worth anything in the future?

You wanna be 'different,' but you're talking about buying a mustang? We must have differing views of the word.

You're all over the place w/ this. First, you say you don't have room for 2 mustangs, then you say you'd keep both. Then, you wouldn't be willing to do a turdbo to keep the 'value' of the shelby, but then it's not about the money or 'coolness' and just looks...and $50k is a lot for simply looks when you can get a body kit on a reg GT.

I think you should hire a financial advisor and let him tell you what to do, cuz I don't think you know what you want.

Um where can you get a GT500 for 50k? I will buy one... maybe two and sell them for 10k more Smiley

The GT500 is a nice car... and the Z06 is much nicer, but more expensive. If you can get it for 50k I say go for it... but I like the fact it has a back seat, I dont have kids but I would like having a back seat for the wife and her friends .

You are already ahead of most people who bought a GT500, they had to pay the markup and most were over 68k. You could sell it now for 10k over what you can get it for.

My local Ford dealer has a hardtop for something like $45k or whatever the MSRP is, without the additional sticker next to the original Ford sticker about "market adjustment value." It wasn't on it last Monday, anyway. Maybe they sneak the extra fee on there when they are doing the paperwork. White with red stripes and red interior, though...ah...

I used to want a Shelby 500. I "settled" for a plain ol GT, and I'm glad I did. Glad I didn't spend the extra $ and get all that extra wgt. I wish I did have a 5.4L, but, if I was going to spend $20K more anyway, I'd just get a built motor and drop in. Ford is coming out with new signature cars every year, right? Steve McQueen Bullet is next I believe. Or is the GT500KR next? I'd rather have a honking fast car than a Shelby that I just kept stock for posterity. If you really have to have that Shelby, then put twin turbos on it after you get it and pull 1000hp or so Maybe more if you keep the s/c too). Now that's a car to keep for posterity - with trophies !
