History
This car was purchased for me by my parents and given to me as a Christmas gift the Christmas right before I turned 16. I drove it throughout my high school years while giving it a few bumps and bruses, but never any major damage. The 302 motor was over hauled in 1991. After high school, it sat a bit more as I went to college. There were some rust issues that caused the garage to not want to let it pass inspection so I took it off the road in 1996. It sat covered in our garage from then until the summer of 2006 when our church planned to have a car show. I thought I would get it out and see if I could get it running again. I cleaned it up, replaced a few parts and fluids, and got it running, but not good enough to drive. Then in July of 2007 I took the car to a local custom car body shop to have the car restored. After 8 months of many hardships with the car (almost to the point of having one of the workers quit because he was to frustrated with it), I got it back in February of this year. I always wanted to restore it myself, but with two young children, there just wasn't any time for that.
