There seem to be a variety of overlapping themes between clergy life and that of a Mustang enthusiast. But the paramount similarity is happiness.
Clearly, Jamie “Pastor J” Estes is happy. Ever since he ordered his 2007 Roush Stage 3 Mustang in December of 2006, he has been tacking on additions like crazy, including a Roush Super Charger, Cold Air Intake, Roush strut tower brace and Roush Off-Road Exhaust. All this while spreading the good word as a local Pastor.
On the interior, Estes’ Stage 3 came equipped with luxurious Stage 3 Leather seats, carbon fiber dash trim, Roush gauges, Roush racing pedals, and Roush billet shifter. He has also installed a push button start, Oil, Boost, Voltage, Water Temp and Air/Fuel gauges.
As if the Stage 3 kit wasn’t enough, Pastor J wanted to add some more aesthetic accents to the ride to shoot for a more Eleanoresque look. He went with Cervini window and side louvers to the Roush kit in addition to a Cervini hood, Shelby hood pins, and a center fog light front grille.
His ’07 has been donned “The Reverend,” and it was no accident. Estes has taken his ministry one step further by founding
MustangMinistries.net, a site devoted to interlacing his faith with his passion.
Of course, not everyone in the Mustang enthusiast crowd is pious, and that has always presented a pleasant clash for Estes at auto shows. In fact, his license plate reads “Pastor J.” When leaving Super Stang Fest earlier this year, he recalls pulling behind a Mustang with a license plate reading “Demon.”
“So to anyone that we past, it looked as if the "Pastor" was chasing the "Demon" out of town!”
