Some enthusiasts simply cannot decide which year of the Mustang they love most. While most eventually make a decision, there are a few who take another route and build their own. That’s what Ken McCauley did.
In his mind, the power and styling of the ’69 and ’70 Boss 9s and the aesthetics of the GT500 were so important that he had to incorporate them in his 2007 S197 Mustang. So, he created “Raven6.”
He added the GT500 fronts and wings for looks only— not to “pose” off the Shelby.
There are no Shelby stripes, no cobra badges and most importantly no Shelby emblems anywhere on this car,” says McCauley. “It is not a Shelby. It is not a Shelby poser.”
Certainly not. With his Whipple supercharger and intercooler and a variety of other mods, Raven6 spits out 465 horsepower at the rear wheels.
Raven6 recently took second place in the 2005+ Modified Mustang class at the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals earlier this month.
But McCauley is sure to give his daily driver with 25,000 miles on the clock equal treatment at home, on the highway commute to work, the show field and at the dragstrip. “She is a true road warrior,” he says.
The vehicle will also be competing in Pinks All Out on July 26 at Old Bridge Twp Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
“Why try to be one of 20-30,000 when you can be one of one?” asks McCauley.
Hit up Ken in the forums and give him props for his ride— his username is
