Gavin Lohmeier's 5-speed 2007 Ford Mustang GT

Gavin Lohmeier has had a history with the Ford Mustang ever since he purchased a ’77 with a hearty 302, rebuilt with cam, heads, 600 carb and LT headers. “I drove it until the tranny went, then I sold it.”

But his passion was not lost. While recovering from surgery last year, Lohmeier needed a project to keep himself busy. So, he purchased a brand new 5-speed 2007 GT Mustang. “I have always loved the Mustang, but now I have found the perfect one for me, and it is fun to add mods and make it my own.”

And that’s no minor statement coming from Lohmeier. In one year, he has changed the mufflers and CAI twice and most recently added a Whipple Supercharger. “I’m enjoying the added horsepower and it satisfies me, for now,” says Lohmeier. “Initially, I spent more time cleaning it than driving it. But it's now my daily driver because i cannot resist driving it!”

Lohmeier also prides himself in learning about every functional facet of the Mustang—how it works, how to add power, and how to improve its appearance. He takes his Stang on cruises with his club, Hawaii Performance Mustangs, and is currently entering it in shows for the summer.

Originally, Lohmeier planned to simply modify his mufflers and rims, but he’s come down with the all-too-familiar mod bug.

“Working on my Stang has become my obsession,” says Lohmeier. “It is a never-ending project that will never get old. This is my dream car, and I’m loving every minute of it!”

Hit up Gavin on the boards-- his username's Stangzilla. Also, check out a video of Lohmeier's serious exhaust in the reply below.

More photos of Gavin's ride can be found in the StangPlanet Featured Rides Gallery.
