Inspiration/Story behind your Stang: My 1965 Mustang was first bought by my dad in 1971. He was 18 yrs old and it was his first car that he bought. This was his only car that he drove to school and work. He also did some bracket racing on the weekends at the local track near his hometown of Westminster, MD. My dad, mom, and 2 sisters moved to the Dallas, TX area in 1983. He continued to drive this car( NO a/c in the Texas heat) everyday to work. In 1986 the shocks towers gave out and the car was parked. This was also the year I was born. Skip ahead to Summer of 1999. The car had sat without being started for 13 yrs. We spent a weekend rebuilding the carb and fuel system, Put some oil in the cylinders and turned the motor over by hand. We gave it a full tune up. The car started right up. That motor was built in the early 1970's and ran strong as ever for the first few years that i drove the car. We spent 2 years restoring the car. The floor pans were rusted through, the shock towers were wasted, and the qtr panels had seen better days. We redid the entire interior, all the suspension, body work, paint etc. It was ready to drive the day I turned 16. It was my daily driver and was the hit of the high school parking lot. I was very proud-not cocky- of the job that my father and I had completed. The entire family was delighted to see the stang running again. Shortly after I turned 16 I got the itch to go drag racing. The first night was not a glorious one. 16 sec passes on street tires. Stock 289's weren't that quick! I began working 40 hr weeks while going to school to support my passion. Slowly but surely i got the car down to 13 seconds in the 1/4.Now the car has had a heart transplant. We decided to stay with the 289 cubic inch displacement and see if we could stay competitive with the other street cars. My goal for the car is to hit 11's on a N/A 289. The car weighs in at 3200 lbs with driver. My parents drove away from their wedding in this car. In March me and my fiancee will be driving away from our wedding in this same car. This was also the car i drove on the night i proposed to her and i was in this car when i met her. This car has a lot of sentimental value to my entire family.

Thanks for looking!

Hey, sorry it's taken awhile to respond. We changed our system for submitting awhile back because this is more efficient. So, yes, you are submitted.

You'll find out if you've been chosen (yours most likely will be) when the USC III begins...within the next month or so. Sorry-- don't have an exact date yet. But you will receive an e-mail. Hope that helps.

Thanks.. ya ill put my dad on the task of making sure the photographer takes plenty of pics lol and also the job of keeping the car safe( ie no crazy wedding pranks) however they are allowed to right on the windows with window chalk... as long as there are no rain clouds in the sky.

Also we are finishing up installing new carpet due to the roll bar and new shifter location so when that is done i will post current interior pics as well as get some new engine pics.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!
