One of the beautiful things about good ol’ blue-blooded Ford Mustang enthusiasts is that the popular trends don’t always develop from the suits in Dearborn. Example: the Boss Mustang.

The Boss hasn’t been officially endorsed by Ford since its popularity reigned decades ago, and many aftermarket producers have aimed to duplicate its splendor with the perfect balance of performance and style.

The folks at Jon Kaase Racing Engines recently fashioned one of the most impressive renditions of the Boss 429 Mustang and, well, just look at the numbers: 800 ft/lbs of torque and 900 horsepower? The Kaase Boss Nine 589ci 2008 GT Mustang is, as the racing specialists describe it, a “real handful.”

Kaase's passion for the Ford Mustang, specifically the Boss 429, has lingered since his high school days- but he could never afford one. It was, as he calls it, the "Holy Grail," their "Hemi Cuda." So, it only makes since that, years later, his team should build such a masterpiece.
